Dr. Herath is a trained interventional bronchoscopist with formal international training and completed a post-specialist fellowship in interventional bronchoscopy for thoracic malignancy at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in 2013.

Schedule an appointment with Dr. Herath at the Wahroonga Rooms for an initial consultation. During this visit, she will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and determine if a bronchoscopy or EBUS is necessary.

If the procedure is recommended, Dr. Herath’s team will provide instructions on how to prepare for the bronchoscopy or EBUS
We will coordinate with the hospital to schedule the procedure. The patient will receive detailed instructions about the date, time, location, and final pre-procedure guidelines.
On the day of the procedure, the patient arrives at the hospital or clinic at the scheduled time. The medical team will confirm all pre-procedure instructions were followed, such as fasting, and any necessary paperwork will be completed.
After the procedure, a follow-up appointment is scheduled to review the results and discuss the next steps in the patient’s care plan. The doctor will go over biopsy results (if applicable) and address any concerns or symptoms the patient may have experienced post-procedure. Ongoing treatment or additional testing will be arranged as needed.
