CPAP CLINIK

CPAP Clinik is our new initiative to help patients troubleshoot issues with using CPAP.

  • We find most patients diagnosed with sleep apnoea had a sleep test done by a third-party non-medical provider, then had a CPAP machine purchased and used without ever seeing a sleep physician, only to struggle with using CPAP.
  • This is a consultation service and online individual and group sessions for patients to help troubleshoot issues with CPAP.
  • The group Zoom sessions are conducted by our sleep specialist and the senior sleep therapist, and the individual consultations are done by our senior sleep therapist.

  • We are also launching a subscription-based, very monitoring service and advice for CPAP users, which we feel is sorely lacking.

  • What is CPAP Clinik?
What is CPAP Clinik?
The CPAP Clinic is our new initiative designed to assist patients in troubleshooting issues related to CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy. We have found that many patients diagnosed with sleep apnea often undergo sleep testing conducted by third-party non-medical providers. These individuals may then acquire a CPAP machine and begin using it without ever consulting a sleep physician. This pathway frequently leads to challenges in effectively using the CPAP device, as patients may not receive the necessary guidance and support to address comfort issues, proper settings, or adherence strategies.
Our clinic aims to bridge this gap by providing personalized support and education for patients. By encouraging patients to engage with a sleep physician, we can ensure they receive a comprehensive evaluation and tailored recommendations that take their unique circumstances into account. This holistic approach not only improves the chances of successful CPAP usage but also enhances overall treatment outcomes for patients with sleep apnea. We are committed to empowering patients with the knowledge and resources they need to utilize their CPAP devices effectively, ultimately leading to better sleep quality and overall health.

  • Who runs the CPAP Clinik?
Who runs the CPAP Clinik?
The CPAP Clinic is staffed by our dedicated sleep specialist and a senior sleep therapist, both of whom bring extensive expertise in the field. Our sleep specialist has completed a prestigious fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine through the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand. Following this, Dr. Herath underwent an additional 12 months of specialized training at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, focusing on complex sleep disorders and sleep research. To further enhance his qualifications, Dr. Herath also earned a Master’s degree in Sleep Medicine from the University of Sydney, where he studied vigilance and daytime functioning in patients with sleep apnea. This comprehensive training enables our team to provide high-quality care and support tailored to the unique needs of patients dealing with sleep apnea and related conditions.
